Used Oil Collection
Used Oil collection is what our business was founded on and it
is still our main focus. We have over 20 years of experience in this
field so you know the job will be done right.
Our fleet of trucks, route trucks, semi trucks, and vacuum
trucks allow us to respond quickly and efficiently to your
location.
What happens to used motor oil after it's collected? Good question.
Consider the following chart:

The final disposition of all liquid collected
by RS Used Oil Services, Inc. is recycled or refined. The non-oil
portions are separated and the water is either chemically treated
or biodegraded and sent to a treatment storage and disposal
facility for proper processing. This is done only under permit
from the Environmental Protection
Agency, Division of Land Pollution Control.
The disturbing news is that over 200 million of the 1.3 billion
gallons of used oil generated in the U.S. yearly are not collected,
but rather dumped illegally or accidentally into sewers, streams,
drains, landfills and backyards:
- 200 million gallons is the equivalent of nearly 20 Exxon Valdez
spills each year.
- One gallon of used oil can contaminate up to one million gallons
of fresh drinking water.
- One quart of used oil can create a two-acre slick on surface
water.
- 40% of the pollution in U.S. waterways is from used motor
oil.
